Skeletal remains of a child found in Tamil Nadu’s Keeladi The skeletal remains of a child were excavated from Konthagai village, part of the sixth phase of ongoing excavations in the ancient site of Keeladi here on Friday. The skeleton was found buried between two terracotta urns that were also found on the same day. It was 75 cm in height and was found 0.5 m below surface level. Excavations are currently taking place at Keeladi, Konthagai, Manalur and Agaram villages in the Sivaganga district. Kodumanal Kodumanal reveals a megalithic belief in the afterlife The Kodumanal excavation of 10 pots and bowls, instead of the usual three or four pots, placed outside three-chambered burial cists and inside the cairn circle, threw light on burial rituals and the concept of an afterlife in megalithic culture. A team from the State Department of Archaeology, Chennai, led by J. VISHWA SHANTI STUPA

 Vishwa Shanti Stupa (World peace pagoda) Constructed atop the Ratnagiri Hill, it is the world’s highest peace pagoda. Conceptualised by renowned Buddhist monk Nipponzan Myohoji and built by Japanese monk Fujii Guruji.
