Fo Guang Shan

Fo Guang Shan Cultural and Educational Centre, received registration under ‘religious, cultural, economic, educational and social purpose’ category recently. Fo Guang Shan (FGS) is one of the largest Buddhist organization and monastic order based in Taiwan. The name translates to "Buddha's Light Mountain". FGS practices Humanistic Buddhism, which has roots in the Linji school of Chan Buddhism.

Bon Bibi

Bon Bibi Bon Bibi is a deity of the Sunder ban forest, west Bengal. The followers of Bon Bibi are fishermen, crab-collectors and honey-gatherers who live in the mangroves with wild animals such as tigers and crocodiles to earn a livelihood. They believe that only Bon Bibi protects them when they enter the forest and survive in tiger-dominated areas. People express their belief in Bon Bibi through Bon Bibir Palagaan, it is a centuries-old folk theatre and dramatic storytelling form that is enacted throughout the island. Traditionally, the performances are held near Bon Bibi temples or villages bordering the forests.

Donyi-Polo Donyi-Polo (also Donyi-Poloism) is the designation given to the indigenous religion, of animistic and shamanic type, of the Tani and other Tibeto-Burman peoples of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam in North-eastern India. The name "Donyi-Polo" means "Sun-Moon", and was chosen for the religion in the process of its revitalisation and institutionalisation started in the 1970s in response to inroads made by Christianity and the possibility of absorption into Hinduism.

Guru Ravidas Guru Ravidas was a North Indian mystic poet-saint of the bhakti movement believed to be born in Varanasi. He taught the removal of social divisions of caste and gender and promoted unity in the pursuit of personal spiritual freedoms. He founded the 21st-century Ravidassia religion, by a group who previously were associated with Sikhism. He is devoted as a guru in the regions of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.

Saudi Arabia opens first movie theatre after 35 years The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on April 18, 2018, opened its first public movie theatre, after over 35 years of prohibition for religious reasons.  The movie theatres were shut down in Saudi Arabia in the 1980s during a wave of ultra-conservatism in the country, as many of the clerics then viewed western movies and even Arabic ones as sinful. The development marks a major milestone for reforms spearheaded by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman under his Vision 2030.
