Ancient History and Culture is an easy subject if learnt strategically for UPSC Prelims and Mains Examination 2021. In UPSC Prelims 2020, 5 questions came from Ancient History and Culture. These questions were Moderate to Difficult and these questions will keep you in the race. Especially the questions on Culture are conceptual and analytical.
The real test of History is in the UPSC Mains Examination as in Paper I many people get less marks.
Lack of command over Ancient History and Culture even though the concepts of Ancient History is very easy.
Lack of Good guidance who would create this curiosity of studying Ancient History.
No correlation with other Topics.
No relevant and contemporary examples.
No proper presentation (History can be written with diagrams) and addressing the demand of the examination.
To overcome all these lacunas, AspireIAS has come up with many batches which includes Art and Culture and History batch. This will ensure you get 110+ in Paper I in UPSC Mains Examination 2021 since every year 2 questions come from Ancient History in UPSC Mains 2021 and 5 Questions come every year in UPSC Prelims 2021.
The syllabus is concise and factual. So only read whatever Ankit Sir tells you. The return on investment is low, so we have to go Priority wise.
A mix of straight forward questions and analytical questions are asked which are essentially easy to write.
If you have revised History and if you have an understanding of History thoroughly then, you can get most of the answers right if not for 100% accuracy.
The questions are generally easy to moderate.
Not many Books to read apart from NCERT Books and AspireIAS Class note. Questions are asked indirectly from these books itself.
The Questions which are too difficult in Prelims are only 3-4 but those are the questions that must be skipped and we should not generalize a subject based on those 4 Questions.
UPSC Civil Services Exams is not just about Prelims, It includes Mains too which carries around 60-70 Marks weightage of History.
Note:
This Crash Course is a 6 day Module but it is the onghighest yielding batch just before Prelims.
It is recommended by most of the Toppers including Vishal Narwade (IAS 2020), Vishal Singh (IFoS 2020) and many others who do this batch repetitively before Prelims to ensure their rank in the UPSC List. The Youtube videos are a testimony to this fact.
The return on investment is very high. Hence, this batch, History Crash Course and the Polity Crash Course are the favorite courses amongst the UPSC Toppers.
We focus on Priority wise teaching as per the latest trends of UPSC Prelims 2015-2020. For Example
Indus Valley Civilization, Buddhism, Jainism, Mauryan administration, Gupta period, Art, Architecture and Culture etc. are Priority I topics. Most of the questions from 2017 to 2020 has come on these Topics. Hence we focus on them first.
Then comes Priority II Topics like Post Maurya period, Post Gupta period and other political Ancient History etc.
Simple and Lucid teaching by Ankit Sir who is an Expert himself in the whole UPSC GS Syllabus.
Mnemonics and Tricks to remember the most complex things like Chronology, Buddhism, Jainism, Administration etc. which you can write in UPSC Mains Examination 2021.
Learning and retention within the class. You will just need to revise multiple times because History is a static subject and there is no contemporary part in it.
Doubt clearing sessions before Class would ensure you have no gaps in your preparation strategy. Even a single error can cost your rank in the Final List.
Only 6 days class with 3 hours each.
But since we have Hybrid module (Online, Offline and Recorded Lectures available) you won’t have any issue.
Targeted and Mnemonics driven approach will never let you forget History and Art and Culture.
Doubt clearing session at the start of the lecture.
P.S: There is no Demo Lecture in this Module.
